FilmLab
The FilmLab is an in-house studio that provide multimedia production services to various stakeholders including the Ministry of Education and Childcare and other departments across the Government of Alberta. This service identifies the best multimedia tools to help different departments and teams achieve their engagement goals to their stakeholders.

FilmLab Logo
The new logo modernizes the FIlmLab, showcasing a film reel with the negative space forming a “f”. This design is aimed to be clean, modern, and simple so it can be used for numerous applications to promote the FilmLab’s services.
Thew new logo also reflects that the team is flexible with their skills and can handle a variety of requests, shown through the bending of the film and different sections.
Technical Patterning
With combining the primary, secondary, and one accent colour, a gradient was created imitating a stage with spotlights highlighting different icons that showcase the FilmLab’s services.
Illustrations feature expressive iconography that have been made 3D and pixelated to add texture and personality. The illustrations captures the tech-driven services of the FilmLab.
Layout of Services
The FilmLab’s website is part of the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Education and Childcare’s intranet, ConnectEd. The goal of the website design was an intuitive layout that highlights the skills and services that the FilmLab offers to stakeholders who want to know more about the team. This includes demo reels and sample products that have been created for past clients and also more information on what is needed when submitting a request to the team.
